California, one of the favorite states for dogs
Dogs are by far the most popular pets in the United States, a trend that is particularly reflected in Southern California.
According to 2023 statistics from PetMD, 65.1 million American households have at least one dog. A report by U.S. News indicates that pet ownership and pet insurance sign-ups have increased significantly since 2020.
The report, which analyzed a database of registered insured dogs, broke down dog ownership at a city level and identified the 25 most popular cities for dogs in America.
