Violent incidents in the early hours of Thursday
In the early hours of Thursday, Tijuana saw two violent incidents in different neighborhoods. In the Cerro Colorado neighborhood, on Cubilete Street, a sack containing two human legs was discovered. The finding occurred after a resident reported a suspicious bundle to the authorities. Upon inspection, officers found the sack, tied with zip ties, containing the severed limbs. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with this case.
Meanwhile, in the La Esperanza neighborhood, Sánchez Taboada district, a police convoy from the Coordination Group was attacked while on patrol. Officers attempted to stop a Honda CRV vehicle. The driver tried to escape by reversing, lost control, and collided with a parked car. He then fled on foot down Ley del Amparo Street toward the Latinos neighborhood, while the armed passenger was unable to escape and was arrested.
The detainee was identified as 17-year-old Jesús "N," a Tijuana native, who sustained a minor gunshot wound. Two .40 caliber firearms and the Honda CRV, which had been reported stolen in California, were seized. No damage to police units was reported.
