Unofficial reports indicate that each soldier required three doses of naloxone
In the early hours of Thursday, two soldiers patrolling Tijuana's North Zone suffered a suspected drug overdose, prompting an emergency response.
The soldiers, part of a group traveling by truck, began feeling unwell while conducting their surveillance round. The incident occurred at the corner of Baja California and Mutualismo avenues, where they were immediately attended to by paramedics.
To revive the soldiers, elements of the Tijuana Fire Department and three Red Cross ambulances arrived at the scene. Emergency teams worked for half an hour to reverse the intoxication process.
Unofficial reports indicate that each soldier required three doses of naloxone, a medication used to counteract opioid overdoses. As of now, no further details have been released about the circumstances leading to the incident, and authorities have launched an investigation to clarify the facts.
