A 32-year-old man was shot multiple times while driving in San Diego's Corridor neighborhood Tuesday night, authorities reported.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the victim was driving eastbound in the 3600 block of Polk Avenue around 10:15 p.m. when an unknown suspect fired approximately 16 shots at his vehicle.
The man's car was hit at least nine times, and the victim suffered six gunshot wounds to the head, police said. He was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
Sixteen 9mm shell casings were found at the scene. The suspect was described as wearing a light-colored hoodie and dark pants. No arrests have been made at this time, and no further details have been provided.
Detectives are conducting an investigation into the shooting, but no information is available yet.
