Divers from the Harbor Police Department recovered the body
A driver lost his life after his vehicle plunged off Navy Pier into San Diego Bay early Monday morning. The incident occurred around 12:35 a.m., according to the San Diego Harbor Police.
Divers from the Harbor Police Department recovered the driver's body around 2:20 a.m.
The police reported that the white Honda Accord, which was pulled from 40 feet of water around 6 a.m., matches the description of a vehicle involved in an overnight stabbing in La Jolla. Due to this possible connection, the San Diego Police have taken over the crash investigation.
Navy Pier is used as a parking lot for the USS Midway Museum. Parking in the area is not expected to be affected by the time the attraction opens at 10 a.m.
