The victims sustained serious injuries

On Halloween night in the city of San Diego, two pedestrians were taken to the hospital after being struck by vehicles in separate incidents, as reported by authorities.

The San Diego Police Department reported that the first incident involved a 73-year-old man who was crossing 43rd Street from west to east on the north side of Gamma Street at around 6:43 p.m.

At the same time, the police announced that a 74-year-old woman was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry northbound in the 1600 block of 43rd Street S. The woman crossed the intersection with Gamma Street and collided with the man north of the intersection.

The pedestrian suffered a fractured pelvis, multiple facial fractures, and a cerebral hemorrhage, according to the police. However, his injuries are not considered potentially fatal. SDPD Traffic Division officers responded to the scene and are investigating the accident.

In another incident, also on Halloween, a 20-year-old man was driving a 2005 Infiniti G35 westbound on Market Street around 9:51 p.m. As he approached the intersection of Market Street and 25th Street, a 40-year-old man was walking north on 25th Street, and the pedestrian entered the intersection with the red traffic light while the driver proceeded with the green light.

At that moment, he struck the pedestrian. The injured victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a cerebral hemorrhage and a fractured pelvis. His injuries are considered potentially fatal.

According to the police, alcohol was not a contributing factor in this collision. SDPD Traffic Division officers arrived at the scene.
