The incident was reported in Florida
A man and woman who won a prize at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, Florida, were shot and robbed after being followed home by two men, according to court documents.
The couple was at the casino on August 2 when they won a significant jackpot on a slot machine. Upon leaving the venue, they were allegedly followed to a home in Riverview, Florida, by two men identified as Marcus Jenkins, 34, and Tristin Wright, 36, as reported by a media outlet.
When the couple arrived at their home, Jenkins was caught on a doorbell camera shooting at them. The woman was shot in the calf, while the man was struck in the right thigh and left knee.
One of the suspects covered the doorbell camera with his hand, while the other was heard demanding that the man remove his watch. According to court records, Jenkins and Wright fled the scene with the man's watch and the woman's purse.
Deputies reviewed surveillance footage from the casino, which showed Jenkins using his phone while following the couple to the parking lot. Jenkins was then seen getting into a Hyundai Sonata, which followed the couple to the Riverview home. A third individual, who has not yet been identified, was driving the car, according to the documents.
Jenkins is facing charges including two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Wright has been charged with two counts of principal to aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, two counts of principal to attempted first-degree murder, and two counts of armed robbery. Jenkins has multiple prior felony convictions.
