Trump is expected to name his running mate, who would become vice president if he wins the November elections, later on Monday.

Meanwhile, the repercussions of Saturday's shooting continue: the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security declared that the attacker should never have had a direct line of sight. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle reported they are working to "prevent an incident like this from happening again."
