In a heartbreaking event that has shocked the city of Chongqing, in southwest China, a three-year-old child lost his life last Monday after being thrown from a 22-story building by his own mother. The tragedy unfolded when the woman, identified as 37-year-old He, experienced a manic episode, initially assaulting her mother-in-law with a knife before committing the fatal act.

According to police reports cited by local media, He first attacked her mother-in-law with a knife before heading to a window and throwing her son out of it. Despite the severity of the incident, the mother-in-law managed to survive and is currently hospitalized receiving medical treatment. Meanwhile, the woman was detained by authorities, and the case is under investigation.

The shocking incident was captured on video and went viral on Chinese social media, showing He holding her son while proclaiming "I'm sick" before throwing him out of the window. Another woman, presumably the mother-in-law, can also be seen witnessing the tragedy statically from inside the apartment.

The swift intervention of emergency personnel and the police put an end to the terrible act, but not before the community witnessed horror. Some neighbors recounted that the woman even attempted to throw another one of her children out of the window, although fortunately rescue personnel were able to prevent it.

Sources close to the case revealed that, although an air mattress was on the ground, the woman chose to throw her son out of a window where there was no protection whatsoever.
