Twenty-two-year-old Monte Henderson faces charges of involuntary manslaughter after an accident in St. Louis, Missouri, that claimed the lives of 42-year-old Laticha Bracero and her 21-year-old daughter Alyssa Cordova. This occurred on Tuesday, February 14, as the victims were crossing a downtown street after attending a Drake concert.
According to authorities, Henderson, who was driving a Jeep Cherokee, ran multiple red lights at high speed before crashing into another vehicle and running over the women. Video footage captured the moment both were struck while crossing the avenue.
The young driver was arrested shortly after the incident and faces charges of armed criminal action and involuntary manslaughter. Despite the seriousness of the charges, Judge Annette Llewellyn chose to set bail at $200,000, allowing Henderson to be released after posting 10% of it.
The victims' family, originally from Chicago, has opened a GoFundMe account to cover funeral costs and transport the bodies of Laticha Bracero and Alyssa Cordova.
