On November 6th, in Bucharest, Romania, a man allegedly assaulted and set fire to his aunt during a family dispute. The stunning scene was caught on security cameras.

The events unfolded in the morning at the entrance of an apartment building where the victim, identified as 54-year-old Liliana Popa, the building's administrator, was with the assailant, 33-year-old Alexandru Ionuţ Popa, and a young woman.

Marina, Liliana's cousin, shared details about the conversations between the victim and Alexandru. She explained that the latter was looking for a job, but Liliana reminded him that he had not been in contact for many years, and now he remembered their family relationship.

The shocking incident was captured on video and broadcasted by local media. In the footage, both are seen entering the building, where a struggle ensues between them. The woman falls after being struck in the face, at which point the assailant, also falling, sprayed what appears to be gasoline. The flames also reached Alexandru's legs, and although he managed to escape, he was apprehended hours later.

The case was reported to the authorities, and the police controlled the fire while Bucharest firefighters headed to the scene. According to the Prosecutor's Office of the Bucharest Court, it was determined that Alexandru planned the crime, and it was committed with cruelty.
