Hamas deployed heavily armed combat groups that crossed the border from Gaza and devastated rural communities. As a result, Israel reported finding the bodies of around 1,500 militants after the assault

Six body bags were found alongside three children's bicycles, as well as the bodies of the Palestinian attackers. The massacre left over 100 Israeli civilians dead at the hands of Hamas in Kibbutz Aza, including 40 babies who were slaughtered along with their parents.

An Israeli officer, Omer Barak, recounted that the attackers set houses on fire to force their occupants to come out and then shot them. On the other hand, Deborah Mintz described how extremists attempted to break into a concrete-reinforced shelter where she had sought refuge with her daughter, son-in-law, and 10-day-old baby. Despite having steel doors to protect against rocket attacks, they were not equipped with locks, leading to a hours-long struggle. They eventually managed to open a steel window to allow themselves to breathe when they felt the terrorists had moved away.

The Israeli army summoned the media to witness the devastation in Kfar Aza on the Gaza border. Despite Hamas breaking into the area on Saturday, the army managed to repel the Islamists in Kfar Aza and other collective farms such as Beeri, Nirim, and Alumim, although this did not happen until Monday. Journalists, equipped with helmets and bulletproof vests and accompanied by Israeli soldiers, toured Kfar Aza, which was left in a state of devastation, and the bodies of Hamas members were still visible outside houses that had been destroyed by fire.

Israel's response to the most serious and deadly terrorist attack on its territory will not be limited to the destruction of Hamas infrastructure in the Gaza Strip or the arrest of its leaders and fighters. According to the announcement by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, a complete blockade will be implemented in the Gaza Strip.

This drastic measure will involve the deprivation of essential supplies such as electricity, food, and fuel in the Palestinian enclave, affecting the entire civilian population of Gaza, which comprises approximately 2.5 million people, amidst this harsh conflict in the Middle East.

The conflict in Israel began with a surprise and extensive operation by the extremist group Hamas, which spanned land, sea, and air, accompanied by the launching of thousands of rockets. So far, it has resulted in the deaths of at least 900 people on the Israeli side.

The leader of Hamas's armed wing, Mohammed Deif, justified the deadly attacks that involved thousands of missiles and ground fighters, emphasizing the offensive as a necessary response to the "crimes of the occupation," the ongoing conflicts in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, and the worsening situation of Palestinian prisoners.

General Itai Veruv, head of the Israeli Defense Forces' Depth Command, declared to the press, "This is not a war, it's not a battlefield. You see babies, mothers, and fathers in their bedrooms and safe rooms, and how the terrorists are killing them. It's not a war, it's a massacre." Reporters present described the stench at the scene, and one reporter mentioned finding the bodies of around 40 babies on stretchers, with overturned cribs and abandoned strollers.
