The story of the 22-year-old influencer went viral on social media after a disturbing video circulated, showing her partially nude in a pickup truck

A disturbing video has been circulating on social media, depicting members of the Hamas militant group in Israel transporting a young woman, seemingly of both German and Israeli nationality, in a partially nude state in a pickup truck. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Shani Louk, who had attended an outdoor electronic music festival known as "Tribe Of Nova" or the Peace Festival. This event took place over the weekend near Kibbutz Reim, an agricultural cooperative in southern Israel, in a rural area near the Gaza Strip.

Hamas's attack took hundreds of participants by surprise on Saturday morning when members of the Islamist group opened fire on the crowd. Israeli emergency services have so far recovered at least 260 bodies, but the exact number of young people who are still missing and may have been kidnapped and taken to Gaza is unknown. Authorities confirmed that Shani Louk is among the kidnapped, although her health status was unknown until Tuesday.

Images of Shani Louk went viral when a video surfaced showing the young woman partially nude, unconscious, with her legs twisted and lying face down in the back of a truck. Several Hamas men paraded her through the streets while shouting "Allahu akbar" (God is great). Others approached and cheered, while one of them spat on the woman's body.

The influencer's family was able to identify her by her tattoos and her long dreadlocked hairstyle. In a video, her mother made a desperate plea to locate her and expressed hope that she was still alive. These images caused outrage in Germany, where Shani Louk's maternal family hails from.

The German federal prosecutor's office has announced that it will launch an investigation against Hamas on suspicion of kidnapping and murdering German citizens. A source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin previously mentioned that several Germans with dual Israeli citizenship were also among the kidnapped by Hamas militants, without providing an exact number.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz has stated that Berlin is working closely with Israel to determine the fate of the German citizens among the hostages and what measures can be taken to ensure their release.

Ricarda Louk also mentioned in a video, "We now have more information that Shani is alive, but she has a severe head injury and is in critical condition. Every minute is vital. And we ask, no, we demand that the German government act swiftly. There should be no debate about jurisdiction. We must act quickly to get Shani out of the Gaza Strip," confirming that her daughter is still alive but in serious condition.
