“YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! EVEN SATIRE!”
Katy Perry has responded to criticism over her new music video "Woman's World." On Saturday, July 13, the pop superstar shared a behind-the-scenes clip explaining her intentions for the video, which aims to empower women. Perry commented on Instagram that the video is a fun and straightforward satire.

Following its release, some criticized the video as an outdated attempt to create a feminist anthem, highlighting the collaboration with Dr. Luke, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by Kesha. Perry explained that the video, which depicts exaggerated and comical situations, seeks to be a reset for her vision of femininity.
"Woman's World" is Perry's first release since "Smile" in 2020 and serves as the lead track for her upcoming dance-pop album "143," set to be released on September 20.
