San Diego had a tough night against their archrival

For the eleventh time in the last 12 seasons, the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched the National League West title after defeating the San Diego Padres 7-2 on Thursday, also winning the series 2 games to 1.

In the end, the only positive outcome for the Padres from the series was securing their postseason berth after winning the first game against the Dodgers, which they closed with a triple play in the ninth inning.

In tonight’s game, the Padres opened the scoring in the fifth inning when Luis Arraez hit a ground ball to right field, allowing David Peralta to score.

They added another run in the sixth inning, thanks to a sacrifice fly from Xander Bogaerts that brought Jurickson Profar home.

However, the Dodgers’ offense erupted in the seventh inning.

Will Smith hit a home run, bringing Max Muncy along with him to tie the game at 2-2. Then, a throwing error by Fernando Tatis following a hit by Shohei Ohtani allowed Kike Hernández to score. Mookie Betts followed up with a single, driving Andy Pages home to give the Dodgers their fifth run.

In the eighth inning, the Dodgers added two more runs when Andy Pages homered, bringing Kike Hernández along with him.

Here is their version in Spanish: Dodgers gana serie a Padres y asegura el título de la División Oeste

The San Diego Padres will finish the regular season with a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, starting this Friday and concluding on Sunday.
