It's the Second No-No in San Diego History
Starter Dylan Cease was untouchable today on the mound, achieving a historic no-hitter with the San Diego Padres against the Washington Nationals, with the game ending 3-0 during the 2024 Major League Baseball season.
This is Cease's first year with the Padres after being acquired from the Chicago White Sox. In today's game, he issued only three walks and struck out nine batters on 114 pitches.
It is important to mention that this is the second no-hitter in the history of the Padres franchise, following Joe Musgrove's no-hitter against the Texas Rangers on April 9, 2021.
The Padres' three runs came in the first inning, and with this victory, they completed the sweep against the Nationals.
The Padres improve their record to 55 wins and 50 losses, while the Nationals fall to 46-56.
