Here are the deadlines to avoid penalties.

More than one million property tax bills are being sent this Tuesday to San Diego County property owners, with payments expected to generate a record $9.08 billion, according to the county treasurer-tax collector. The 1,017,929 secured property tax bills for the 2024-2025 period are on their way to property owners this week.

"$9.08 billion is a record-breaking figure, and these property taxes will be used to fund critical county and city services," said County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister. "Public health, schools, and many other essential services are funded by these tax dollars, so we encourage taxpayers to pay their taxes as early as possible."

He reminded San Diego residents that paying early means avoiding penalties. All bills can be viewed and paid online at sdttc.com using an electronic check.

The first installments are due on November 1 and will be considered delinquent after December 10. The second installment is due on February 1, 2025, and will be considered delinquent after April 10, 2025.

If you have not received your property tax bill by mail by October 31, visit sdttc.com. Property owners who have not received their tax bill by October 31 can find their bill information online or call the Treasurer-Tax Collector's office at 877-829-4732.
