A 20-year-old woman was shot early Thursday morning at the intersection of Vesta Street and Dalbergia Street in Barrio Logan, San Diego, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 3:07 a.m. when a masked man approached the woman and opened fire, striking her in the right forearm. The suspect, dressed entirely in black, fled the scene immediately after the shooting, the San Diego Police Department reported, according to information from ABC10 News.

An officer on the scene provided first aid to the victim before she was transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, the injury is not life-threatening.

SDPD Central Division officers are currently investigating the shooting, and the suspect remains at large.
