California drivers have been ranked as the most confrontational in the United States, according to a survey published by Forbes Advisor. This study revealed that California is the state with the highest percentage of drivers who have experienced some form of road rage.
"Everybody is in a hurry, everything is too fast," commented Arel Levinson, a local driver.
The survey also indicated that following California, the states with the most aggressive drivers are Missouri, Utah, and Oklahoma. In contrast, Hawaii was identified as the state with the most polite drivers.
"When you try to change lanes and they see you with your turn signal on, instead of slowing down to let you in, they speed up, and you think... what's going on?" expressed Tina Carpenter, another driver.
According to the survey data, 11% of drivers in California said another driver has exited their vehicle to yell at or fight them.
"I have encountered road rage and I'm a school teacher. I've had people make obscene gestures at me, and I just think they obviously didn't have the right sixth-grade teacher," shared Carpenter.
Additionally, the study revealed that 8.5% of drivers in California frequently experience road rage from other drivers.
The insurance company Allstate has offered some tips to avoid road rage incidents:
