Today is California's largest fireworks show with free admission

The "Big Bay Boom" fireworks show will be displayed from four barges on San Diego Bay at 9 PM. Bring your lawn chairs, friends, and boats to enjoy it from these locations:

 

* Shelter Island

* Harbor Island

* North Embarcadero

* Marina District

* Coronado Ferry Landing

*On the Water / Boating

 

 

 

 

 

 

Transportation and Parking Recommendations:  Parking along San Diego Bay fills up quickly. Arrive early and plan where to park. We strongly encourage you to use our transportation partners.

 

Big Bay Boom Parking

 

Transportation will help you get in and out of the bay. The Port of San Diego has set up:

 

* Expanded 4th of July train, trolley, and bus service from MTS.

* New: Guaranteed parking with pre-purchased tickets.

* Parking meters are free on July 4th. Time limits at meters and pay stations will be enforced at Embarcadero, Shelter Island, and Spanish Landing.

 

 

Trolleys, Buses, Trains – Metropolitan Transit System

 

MTS offers:

 

* Expanded trolley service for the Big Bay Boom fireworks extravaganza.

* Free parking at MTS Park & Ride lots throughout the system.

* Download the PRONTO App to your phone or get and add money to a PRONTO card (one-time $2 fee) at any trolley ticket machine or any participating retail network location.

  • The MTS "FRIENDS RIDE FREE" promotion is in effect. A friend may ride free with a fare-paying customer on all MTS routes on July 4th.

 

 

 

 

The highest frequency of trains will be immediately after the end of the fireworks. Green Line trains will depart every 7.5 minutes toward Santee. Blue Line trains will depart every 15 minutes immediately after the conclusion of the show as needed, then every 30 minutes until just before midnight. Orange Line will have an additional trip, then every 30 minutes until about 10 PM. Between Santa Fe Depot and Old Town, trips will be about every five minutes for one hour after the fireworks.
