Temperatures could exceed 40 degrees celsius
In Baja California Sur, extreme temperatures are expected, especially in areas such as La Paz, Comondú, southern Mulegé, and parts of Loreto, where thermometers could exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
However, regions like Santa Rosalía, Heroica Mulegé, Loreto, Los Cabos, and occasionally Ciudad Constitución will register values between 30 and 35 degrees.
On the other hand, traditionally cooler areas like Todos Santos, San Carlos, and San Juanico will have maximum temperatures below 30 degrees.
The city of La Paz will experience temperatures above 35 degrees throughout the week. Despite this, the minimum temperatures remain acceptable, ranging between 20 and 24 degrees in various localities such as Los Cabos, Todos Santos, and Santa Rosalía.
These conditions are due to the presence of an anticyclonic circulation in the mid-levels of the atmosphere since May 20, triggering the third heat wave of the season. In light of this situation, health and Civil Protection authorities warn about the risks of overexposure to the sun, recommending constant hydration, consumption of well-cooked and disinfected foods, as well as seeking medical attention in case of symptoms of heatstroke or gastrointestinal problems.
